Haven’t tested with an external monitor yet, but seeing the screenshots,
it doesn’t look like firefox is truly going fullscreen, as it’s not
hiding the indicators panel.

For me the problem only appears when watching videos with the ubuntu
webbrowser. With firefox videos have no offset and the controls are
visible. Unity itself has no overscanning, because the indicatorpanel is
visible. I have two screenshots which compare the same video on the
ubuntu webbrowser
I also get a screen over scanning or is it under scanning issue on my BQ
M10 FHD.
When connected via an HDMI to a 1080p TV I cannot see the edges of the
screen. That is the top, bottom and left hand side are not complete
visible. I have tested on an LG & Samsung TV, both seem to have similar
