With the new Unity 8 on bq M10 rc-proposed r219 the issue seems to be
gone. I can't reproduce it with the Browser app or with any other app.

The browser seems to be more broken than other apps in resizing so
probably needs a fix all of its own. So that's this bug.
The more general resize problem is covered by bug 1540702.

Title:

I've noticed some other apps have the same problem. Maybe it's Unity 8
bug?

Title:
Browser window does not
I've just tried in 'desktop mode' with the Browser window maximized. And
the issue is not visible there. The window takes the full screen width.

I don’t have my M10 handy for confirming right now, but my guess is that
the initial window size (100GU×75GU) is what causes this visual glitch.
I always thought that when running non-windowed, the size hints of the
windows would be overridden by the size of the screen. A bug in qtubuntu
maybe?
