[Touch-packages] [Bug 1589239] Re: Switching from staged to desktop mode should not be so disruptive for legacy apps
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1600290 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1600290 ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1600290 Should not kill Xapps when leaving desktop mode -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589239 Title: Switching from staged to desktop mode should not be so disruptive for legacy apps Status in Libertine: Invalid Status in Ubuntu UX: New Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Currently on the tablet, when one of the legacy apps (eg Firefox or Libreoffice) is launched in desktop mode, switching to staged mode shows a message prompt in which you can only close the app (the other option doesn't have a button and the string is too long, at least in French). This message is extremely disruptive, you can only turn off your app or toggle the desktop mode back on. Running legacy apps in staged mode may be discouraged, but in that case, why not show this message when you launch an app in staged mode? At the very least, there should be an option to say "OK, I know what I'm doing and I really want to run Libreoffice in staged mode". Thanks! [Touch-packages] [Bug 1589239] Re: Switching from staged to desktop mode should not be so disruptive for legacy apps
I believe this is actually a function of Unity 8 to show the dialog. Marking U8 as affected. ** Also affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589239 Title: Switching from staged to desktop mode should not be so disruptive for legacy apps Status in Libertine: New Status in Ubuntu UX: New Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Currently on the tablet, when one of the legacy apps (eg Firefox or Libreoffice) is launched in desktop mode, switching to staged mode shows a message prompt in which you can only close the app (the other option doesn't have a button and the string is too long, at least in French).
