Public bug reported: I've changed /etc/fstab mount line from: UUID=78fc6e4d-9a37-406d-9bde-449fd8595373 /media/Data ext4 relatime 0 1 to: UUID=78fc6e4d-9a37-406d-9bde-449fd8595373 /media/Data ext4 noauto,x-systemd.automount,relatime 0 1
Now system fails to boot, in logs I see: systemd[1]: Starting of media-Data.automount not supported. systemd[1]: Dependency failed for Local File Systems. systemd[1]: local-fs.target: Job local-fs.target/start failed with result 'dependency'. systemd[1]: local-fs.target: Triggering OnFailure= dependencies. systemd[1]: Started Emergency Shell. systemd[1]: Reached target Emergency Mode. While according to http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/xenial/man5/systemd.mount.5.html it should work. I'm on Xenial as of today. ** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: I've changed /etc/fstab mount line from: UUID=78fc6e4d-9a37-406d-9bde-449fd8595373 /media/Data ext4 relatime 0 1 to: UUID=78fc6e4d-9a37-406d-9bde-449fd8595373 /media/Data ext4 noauto,x-systemd.automount,relatime 0 1 Now system fails to boot, in logs I see: systemd[1]: Starting of media-Data.automount not supported. systemd[1]: Dependency failed for Local File Systems. systemd[1]: local-fs.target: Job local-fs.target/start failed with result 'dependency'. systemd[1]: local-fs.target: Triggering OnFailure= dependencies. systemd[1]: Started Emergency Shell. systemd[1]: Reached target Emergency Mode.
