Public bug reported:

-plug hdmi cable in to my laptop and LCD tv
-replicate my laptop screen on tv
-from sound settings, select hdmi output
-watch a movie, everything is fine ;)
-plug hdmi cable out of laptop
-now play music/video on laptop but NO sound is heard
-in sound settings, builtin laptop speakers is selected, sound test "works"
-play music/video on laptop but no sound is heard, no change
-open music/video file with VLC player, select Audio > Audo Device, there i see
builtin HDMI selected, i select builtin speakers
-sound works again on laptop

so after plugging out hdmi cable, even though i "only" see builtin
speakers in sounds settings, hdmi output selection persists, and I cant
fix it in sound settings. I have to go to VLC player
