Thanks for your feedback! My comments to the solution proposals: 1) Add an animation... There is already a focus animation in place when selecting an item from the spread. It's very subtle and quick scale animation for the selected item to bring a bit smoothness to the selection. We made it

A few suggestions for possible solutions: 1) Add an animation when activating the app (but this has the drawback or making the UI slower) 2) Don't crop the thumbnail, but respect the aspect ratio of the window: in this way the thumbail will be smaller, and the user will be able to predict
