Open a pdf file from the zip archive. Save the file using "Save as by choosing a new directory (outside /tmp/) The file is saved, but when the PDF previewer is closed, the file disappears. an strace of the ark process shows unlink("/home/elgaard/foo.pdf") which is where the PDF was saved to. I did have a similar problems years ago, and I am almost sure that I checked the option "open the file with associated application" back then and suspect that the setting was changed behind my back at a later update.
