When asking "DesktopEntry", totem return value "totem" (meaning totem.desktop). That is probably wrong. Ubuntu 19.10 has no "totem.desktop" file. $ updatedb $ locate totem.desktop The right answer would be "org.gnome.Totem". That is /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Totem.desktop Please see: https://specifications.freedesktop.org/mpris-spec/latest/Media_Player.html#Property:Identity Please fix it.
