> This was introduced as a regression in version 1.16.2 of the MIT
kerberos library,
Ubuntu 18.04 does not ship version 1.16.2 of krb5, it ships version
1.16. So why do you believe bionic is affected by this issue, or why do
you believe the problem you are seeing on 18.04 is this issue?

Title:
libkrb5-3 1.16.2 can crash client programs
Status in krb5 package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Ubuntu Release: 18.04.2 LTS
Package: libkrb5-3 1.16.2
The libkrb5-3 package (MIT Kerberos library) shipped with Ubuntu 18.04.2 has
a known bug which can cause a program using the library to crash when using
MEMORY ccaches. This was introduced as a regression in version 1.16.2 of the
MIT kerberos library, and fixed in 1.16.3.
Regression ticket: https://krbdev.mit.edu/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=8771
Release notes for 1.16.3 (see "Fix a regression"):
https://web.mit.edu/kerberos/krb5-1.16/
Can the libkrb5-3 package be updated to version 1.16.3 for the Ubuntu
18.04 release series? We have software (not part of Ubuntu) that uses
MEMORY ccaches extensively and it is impacted by this bug.
