Public bug reported:

1. Booting the system from USB 3.0 stick does not show any indication of
graphics problems.

2. Upon the installation to a hard drive, the graphics resolution is
below standard and cannot be changed in the system settings.

3. By installing the Nvidia driver and rebooting the system, I find that
there is no graphics desktop available; apparently, level 5 was not
fully reached. There is a workaround for this. I can try to press
CTRL+F2 and then CTRL+F1 and the high-resolution graphical desktop
becomes apparent. Switching terminals allows me to go to the graphical
session.

4. Disabling Wayland in the appropriate configuration file allows the
system to become fully functional.
