[Touch-packages] [Bug 1875091] Re: opencl fails with "pipe_radeonsi.so: undefined symbol: amdgpu_cs_query_reset_state2"

2020-05-07 Thread Shan
Fresh re-install of amdgpu (and related things) made the problem go
away. I suppose it was most likely something I'd done pre-upgrade in
the course of getting the old drivers working.

** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Invalid

Title:
  opencl fails with "pipe_radeonsi.so: undefined symbol:
  amdgpu_cs_query_reset_state2"

Status in mesa package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Both luxmark and leelaz, the two OpenCL applications I have, fail at
  runtime with the same error, looking for
  "amdgpu_cs_query_reset_state2" in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gallium-
  pipe/pipe_radeonsi.so

  This is on a system with a relatively new AMD GPU, freshly upgraded
  from 18.04. Leela zero worked correctly in 18.04, and I've tried
  various compiler options, openCL config and such with no success. I
  don't know about luxmark but installed it to test. Since it reports
  the same error, I think it's a bug to report here.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1875091] Re: opencl fails with "pipe_radeonsi.so: undefined symbol: amdgpu_cs_query_reset_state2"

2020-05-01 Thread Shan
Replacing mesa-opencl-icd with the version from Ubuntu 19.10 (mesa-
opencl-icd_19.2.8-0ubuntu0~19.10.3_amd64.deb) is enough to make things
work.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1875091] Re: opencl fails with "pipe_radeonsi.so: undefined symbol: amdgpu_cs_query_reset_state2"

2020-04-26 Thread Shan
I thought I'd reported this as package "mesa", since the problem appears
in mesa-opencl-icd. Maybe I misclicked or something. If someone
changed it to the Nvidia drivers package, could you please pick the
correct package for AMD drivers instead?

** Package changed: nvidia-graphics-drivers-440 (Ubuntu) => mesa
(Ubuntu)
