When I opened the lid I found it locked as it should have been, so that's apparently not the issue. The issue is that it just never went to sleep even though it was idle for hours. See: https://github.com/jikamens/remember-the-yubikey The relevant part here is that the unit file just starts up a shell script that checks if my YubiKey is plugged in, and if it isn't it exits. I don't keep my YubiKey plugged in when the laptop is closed and idle — and it certainly wasn't plugged in when I observed it staying up for hours despite being closed and idle before filing this ticket — so I doubt this is relevant. Looking at the attached journal logs, there's a lot of Yubikey service activity between the lid closed and lid opened lines.
