Title:
Bad digital sound quality with HDA-intel AD1989B *with workaround*

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
Using the digital optical output on my Asus P5Q-E, I get ugly
crackling distortions on the higher frequencies. That is, the
distortions can only be clearly heard while listening to piano music
or music with similar high and clean notes. The error is there no
matter what player or sound server is used.

*Workaround* Neverheless, the error can be easily addressed using the tool
HDA-Analyzer:

http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa.git;a=blob_plain;f=hda-analyzer/run.py;hb=HEAD

Simply running this program as root and in the entry "Node[0x02] AUD_OUT"
disable and enable the checkbox called "enable" and suddenly my loudspeakers do
not sound broken anymore.
This has to be done every time the alsa has restarted, which might only be
when the system is restarted and for me once per month, so the problem is alot
more irritating than applying the simple workaround.

Attachment: output from alsa-info.sh concerning my system, alsa-
  version, soundcard etc.
