  no sound on Presario B1900

Bug description:
  I've tried livecd and installs of kubuntu 9.04 up to kubuntu 10.04 and
  sound has never worked on this laptop. Currently have kubuntu 10.04
  installed.

  I tried tweaking things according to
  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=616845 but could not get any
  sound from speakers or headphone jack.
