I think it's because I have home folder encryption enabled and PAM has
some race condition for launching the systemd --user process.
This is *really* annoying because I launch the emacs daemon like that,
without it I can't start my editor in a muscle memory way.

expecting it would already have 2.12 for some reason).

source? Not sure what's the best way to test latest against latest

After upgrading from 17.04 to 17.10 I also had this issue with error:
