There are a lot of changes in pango1.0 since the version we currently
have in eoan. We held off updating because there was a test failure.
This has been resolved in the latest release, so we'd like to go for the
update now.

I can see three problems here:
1. The Lsusb.txt doesn't show any mouse connected (?)
2. The Xorg log suggests the connection to the mouse keeps getting lost:

multiple servers are being served. with 70-persistent-net.rules we can trust
