Normal??, Not in the least. As to harmful well probably not harmful but

lubuntu-core is another meta-package so it's removal isn't harmful per-
se. However the removal of meta-packages should not cause the marking
for autoremove of that meta-package's deps. Check what happens in Ubuntu
if ubuntu-desktop is removed or caused to be removed, ie. nothing else
is removed
Possibly centered around lubuntu-core. Ex. below of what's marked for
autoremove if removing a recommend of lubuntu-core, ie. the laptop-detect
package
$ sudo apt-get remove laptop-detect

Sorry Brian, meant to check back & mark invalid as the issue seemed to resolve
itself with a new install several days later.
(- no, it was a straightup install from a daily image, no ppa's of any sort..

You received this
Easily reproduced *once* per session in a live session. Doesn't seem to occur
again unless one logs out/ in.
Also don't see on a real install so this comment may be of no value?
What reproduces here is to type some letters in the home Dash, then add a :
crash will then occur within a few sec.s
Just to note -
With the recent unity_no_csd.patch for gedit 3.18.3 (0ubuntu4) which returns
unity window deco in gedit then obviously that deco would merge.

It seems unattended-upgrades sets default to *install* in 20auto-
upgrades, (1), but in 10periodic the default for download
(APT::Periodic::Download-Upgradeable-Packages) is set to just Display
immediately (0)
This creates an impossible situation, Unattended-Upgrade can't install
when Download
