I tried everything from askubuntu but the system doesn't give in. Each time I

1. Install dconf-editor (to edit the "registry keys")

off and everything
My workaround until this is fix, add a startup application that runs
this script:

I figured out our problem. We lowered `fs.nr_open` on the non-working
systems from the - apparent default - of `1048576` to `655360`. The
docker package set a limit higher than our new limit, so the process was
failing to start.

system showed some 5 or 6 kernel errors upgrade messages.
All of the in sequence.
I was upgrading from a 15.10 fresh installation to 16.04.
the message after all upgrade process was:

I'll try to install manually other kernel.
Hummm... dual boot with windows 10. I forget to say that.
this bug does not generate any kind of problem with windows 10 start-up.

directly the 16.04.
after do a: sudo update-manager -d, the system started to upgrade. some
packages shows up messages of installation errors. It says kernel isn’t
functional. Ubuntu 15.10 to 16.04

During upgrade my Ubuntu 15.10 to the new 16.04 LTS i take a few errors
talking about python-minimal 2.7.11-1 saying failed to install/upgrade.
For now the problem is: my unity not appear.
Sorry for my bad English and thank you for help me.

bsdtar fails on yakkety. It was discovered while using vagrant, which
could not unpack images due to this issues. The workaround was to use
tar instead (by changing bsdtar into a link to tar), but bsdtar is still
broken.
$ bsdtar
bsdtar: symbol lookup error: bsdtar:
So the missing symbol is there, the problem is that it was not finding
it for my native yakkety environment:
$ nm -D /usr/bin/bsdtar | grep archive_read_add_passphrase
U archive_read_add_passphrase
$ nm -D /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libarchive.so.13 |grep
conjure-up snap version was breaking bsdtar!
