Title:
Chrome crash on startup, after Kubuntu 14.04.2 fresh install, may be
related to bug 1424263, which also affects me

Status in mesa package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I downloaded and installed Google Chrome 64 bit official deb, and when
I get this blowout in the command line:

  $ google-chrome-stable
  [1:1:0306/095859:ERROR:image_metadata_extractor.cc(111)] Couldn't load
libexif.
  [7748:7748:0306/095859:ERROR:browser_main_loop.cc(198)] GTK theme error:
Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "oxygen-gtk",
  [7748:7748:0306/095859:ERROR:browser_main_loop.cc(198)] GTK theme error:
Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "oxygen-gtk",
  Aborted (core dumped)

Since I have not found the problem reported somewhere else in Google
Chrome's product forum, I posted a bug report:
  https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-
  topic/chrome/report-a-problem-and-get-troubleshooting-
help/linux/Stable/LniyR9bsfus, but then I also tried to install Steam
and ended up on the page with the bug number 1424263:
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1424263.

I guess the two bugs may be related in the sense that the update of
the Kubuntu install disk may have triggered them both.

2016-03-02 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
brancoliticus, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better.

Could you please run the following command once from a terminal by ensuring you
have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for
attaching additional debugging information:
apport-collect -p mesa 1429137

When reporting xorg related bugs in the future, please do so via the
above method. You can learn more about this functionality at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
