[Touch-packages] [Bug 1594671] Re: warn in skl_update_other_pipe_wm
[Expired for xorg (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1594671 Title: warn in skl_update_other_pipe_wm Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Lenovo X1 Carbon 4th gen (Skylake) with the latest firmware. When plugging a monitor in to the DisplayPort connection on my dock, the display froze. No keyboard input appeared to be working, and the "mute" LEDs would not light when I pressed the F1/Mute key. However the system was still running as a browser tab was still playing music. I am running gnome-shell on Ubuntu Xenial. On the next boot I saw this once logged in. I then rebooted and submitted this bug report (so the logs collected are from the third boot. The monitor is working). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1594671] Re: warn in skl_update_other_pipe_wm
Joel Stanley, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and- netbooks/ThinkPad-X-Series-laptops/ThinkPad-X1-Carbon-Type-20FB- 20FC?linkTrack=GPS%253ABody_Search%2BProducts==false an update to your computer's buggy, insecure, and outdated BIOS is available (1.15). When you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate how does this improve the situation? For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. Also, you don't have to create a new report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible: 1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect): sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 2) Please make a comment specifically advising on how this improves the situation. 3) Please mark this report Status Confirmed. If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid. Thank you for your help. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-1.15 ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1594671 Title: warn in skl_update_other_pipe_wm Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Lenovo X1 Carbon 4th gen (Skylake) with the latest firmware.
