[Touch-packages] [Bug 1633751] Re: No login prompt when waking up the computer from suspend
Thanks for that info. If the issue isn't reproducible it's hard to deal with.. I let the status of this bug report remain "Incomplete". It means that it will be automatically closed in a couple of months if there is no further activity. Would you be able to reproduce the issue after that, please file a new bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1633751 Title: No login prompt when waking up the computer from suspend Status in lightdm package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Ubuntu 16.10 x64. * I let my computer go to sleep. * Several hours later I wake it up. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1633751] Re: No login prompt when waking up the computer from suspend
'sudo systemctl suspend' works fine and I m prompted for my password on wake-up. When I voluntarily ask the computer, it's ok too. I tried to reproduce the same conditions than when the bug occurred: I was watching a flash video in my web browser, and flash does not disable screen power off nor sleep mode when a video is playing. Unfortunately I did not reproduce the bug. If I encounter the bug again I will add more information here, hopefully I will find the conditions that led to the bug (I only saw it once but my Ubuntu 16.10 installation is fresh).
Hmm.. When suspending my computer through inactivity, I'm prompted for password. Same thing when suspending through the Suspend item in the System meny. So I can't reproduce the issue after all. One question, @Hadrien, is if your computer successfully entered into suspend mode. Can you please check what happens if you run the command: sudo systemctl suspend ** Changed in: lightdm (Ubuntu) Importance: High => Undecided ** Changed in: lightdm (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1633751 Title: No login prompt when waking up the computer from suspend Status in lightdm package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Ubuntu 16.10 x64. * I let my computer go to sleep. * Several hours later I wake it up. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1633751] Re: No login prompt when waking up the computer
Thanks for your report! I just let my computer suspend by running this command: sudo pm-suspend Wasn't prompted for password when wakening up the computer, which would confirm your observation. However, I also tried: sudo systemctl suspend Then, when wakening up the computer, I was prompted for password as expected. So this may be related to the upstart -> systemd transition. ** Changed in: lightdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: lightdm (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Summary changed: - No login prompt when waking up the computer + No login prompt when waking up the computer from suspend -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1633751 Title: No login prompt when waking up the computer from suspend Status in lightdm package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Ubuntu 16.10 x64. * I let my computer go to sleep. * Several hours later I wake it up.
