I don't see how boot failure or system crash is a bug in apt. That could
be everything from faulty drivers to faulty electronics.

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
In previous installations I tried through the software center Ubuntu, same
result. I suspect that the problem is in incorrect installation of the
previous package, but without it I won't have Internet.
