Just a follow-up - so recompiling budgie-desktop with a rebuilt gnome- desktop3 bumped with a so-name of 20 stops budgie crashing. There are other issues - but highly likely because a other packages need to be rebuilt with the bumped so-name package version. Enclosed a debdiff ( if the soname
