Title:
Sound does not work on 12.04 (alpha); suspected regression

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Internal Speaker does not work (whether external speakers are plugged
in or not), and External Speakers do not work either. I can't get any
sound to work. I was peviously using 10.04 LTS and decided to try the
12.04 alpha. My sound was working in 10.04 even though both the
internal speaker and external speaker output sound at the same time
(so i unplugged the internal speaker as a easy solution). I plugged
the internal speaker back in for this test since i could get no sound
from the external one, but niether seem to work.

I tried using apport, but it also says that 'alsa' and 'alsa-driver'
does not exist. Maybe thats the problem? Since there was at least some
functionality in 10.04 with Gnome, i'm assuming that this is either a
regression or something is not installed correctly.
