Hi, had the same problem with a pptp vpn (don't ask why we use pptp). As described i had to set the MTU of the physical network adapter (e.g. eth0) to 1000 to get the VPN working without disconnectes all the time. You can set the MTU easily via the network manager on the "ethernet" tab, but you

I've had the same problem for about a year, and now, I think, I've finally found the way to fix it (at least somehow). Looks like in my case it was the same as in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network- manager/+bug/991666/comments/16 (duplicate routes entries). So what I've done. -
