I do not get any specific error, otherwise I would have reported. The 
client just reports an error in updating.
Where should I look for a log of the error? apache error log does not 
report anything.

If you want any suggestions, you'll must describe the details of the failure.
At least, response of the xmlrpc request should contain the error message.
