Hello everyone,

I'm glad to announce that the alternative source language feature has
landed trunk[1]. This feature was requested on bug 209[2] and as some
of you would know it's part of my SoC project.

The feature is disabled server wide by default and it must be enabled
in order to let users use the new functionality (set enablealtsrc to
"True" in pootle.prefs).
Once it's enabled, users can select their desired alternative source
language in the personal options page (it stores the locale code in
altsrclanguage in users.prefs). To disable the feature just select
"None" in the list of available languages.
The alternative source language text is displayed just below the
original string.

There are already some known issues (c&p from the commit log):
Plural units are not supported yet (nothing is displayed)
Unit context (such as msgctxt in PO) is not taken into account
The first match from the alternative source language project is used - not
specifically from the unit or file corresponding to the current unit
This might need lots of memory and possibly processing power in large projects

So as you see there are things to improve. Meanwhile, I'd like to
invite you to test this new feature and to give your impressions.

For those interested on my project progress, you can see the latest
status on the wiki dashboard[3].

I hope this will be useful at least for some of you :)
Have a good weekend,

Julen.
