Sorry for the delay... getting a hang of this project (WordPress) is a
bit tricky.
Since you asked for feedback, here's what I found out:
It would appear that the 3 files on Pootle for WordPress are not quite
what WordPress is operating off these days. Now i may have gotten this

Unfortunately, I'm getting the same problem. I tried installing the deb
package of translate 1.9.0 as you recommended. Then I realized I had two
installations in my Python2.6 and Python2.7 directories. I removed both
and reinstalled translate 1.9.0. I also removed my Pootle-2.1.6
