Let us not forget that partitions with an XFS filesystem cannot be shrunk.
XFS is the default for Trisquel's /home...
At one time the sound card on my laptop worked fine without issues. I guess
after an update or a package install it went all screwy on me. Now, after
every reboot I have run `sudo alsa force-reload` to get my sound card
working. Anybody know how to make it so I don't have to type every time
Adding 'alsa force-reload' to the file /etc/rc.local (before the 'exit' line
of course) will probably work. You need administrator's privileges to edit
this file. For instance:
$ sudo gedit /etc/rc.local
I'm new to Trisquel. I get that the OS is a libre distro approved by the
FSF, but does this mean that all of the software that you are allowed to get
from the repositories are also free software? Or does this just apply to the
OS and the OS updates?
What is the difference between the OS and the repositories? All our
repositories contain only free software, while you can use other
repositories that might contain nonfree software and aren't recommended
by us.

And should you find software in the repositories that isn't free software,
file a bug and it will be promptly removed.
I thought gksudo was just a graphical frontend for entering your password for
sudo. It does something different?
You can try to update the kernel to the latest version. Hopefully your card
nos is supported...
Apparently gksudo sets HOME=~root, and copies .Xauthority to a tmp directory.
This prevents files in your home directory becoming owned by Root.

The only Atheros bluetooth thing listed in h-node.org doesn't:

This is the following bug: https://trisquel.info/en/issues/5141
Curiously, that happened not much before the launching of GNU/consensus:

I just notice that forum for the first time, and I went to the IRC channel to
see if someone there knew what it was all about, and after reading a topic
from aliasbody there in the troll hole, I came to the conclusion that is
probably a place were you can post a topic that you consider will
Wasn't Diaspora supposed to be the poster child for truely open and
decentralized social networking under an Affero GPLv3 license? Did that even
get finished or is it considered a failure?
As for the Minetest issue, you might want to re-compile it. From what I
understand, Debian and Ubuntu (and therefore Trisquel) aren't binary
compatible, despite one coming from the other. So, something that works on
Debian isn't guaranteed to work on Trisquel.
If you aren't using the proprietary NVIDIA drivers I'd suggest compiling the
game again on Trisquel. Debian 6 is older than Trisquel 5.5 so whatever works
on Debian 6 should work on Trisquel 5.5 (generally speaking). As miga said
Debian and Ubuntu/Trisquel are not binaurally compatible.
I believe there are only a few Bluetooth chipsets from Atheros available and
these include the: AR3001, AR3002, AR3011, and AR3012. All of these use the
ath3k driver/firmware. The driver is free software friendly although the
firmware is not.
I would suggest avoiding boards with Atheros
I've successfully updated the kernel when you suggested. For me, it fixes the
issue, I can confirm this.
The Minetest game is working fine.
Since I've installed libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental, which adds extra 3D
acceleration I should also add that according to glxinfo, my renderer is now
