Thanks for the quick response. That takes care of the lock screen problem,
but I'm not seeing anything in the settings for the GNOME main menu.
That tool is useless. There's no way anyone who has no idea what distro to
pick could possibly quantify what they want the way that tool asks.
Under Windows, my laptop had a key that would suspend & lock the computer,
and of course the Windows key to bring up the start menu. Under Trisquel
these keys now do nothing (although before I updated my kernel the lock key
had the highly amusing effect of typing "l"). Is there any way to cau
Settings -> Keyboard; Shortcuts tab.
Well you can do that. You just need to download a GTK3 theme and copy it in
the /usr/share/themes folder (in order to have it for all users) or in the
~/.local/share/themes folder if you want to use it with only one account.
I was hoping to be able to take themes I found on the internet and install
them.
Not just the pre-packaged ones found in synaptic...

I remember working with the runlevels when I was on arch. But I never found
and easy way (as the arch way was) to do that in Debian based systems (the
same with daemons and modules), but I will eventually find out :D
Thanks for the information !
Glad to hear that. I'll let you figure this one out by yourself. Suggest you
start by reading /etc/rc2.d/README
(2 is the default runlevel on Debian based distros)
If the INIT INFO part seems hard (does for me) use some other script as a
template.
I guess it might not work if it's run too
This worked like a charm :D
Just another question, where is the best place to put the initial script ? -
In order to boot with the "pm-powersave false" option before the GDM Window.
Since it becomes slow even at that time).
The .sh attachments don't currently work.

You could replace them with compressed versions.
Yeah. This content should do the trick.#!/bin/sh

This isn't this best tool. I got a good chuckle when I set "ease of use" to

How-To-Use:
To install Trisquel-OS on a PC could be easy, if you use my scripts below.
After installing Trisquel and the first reboot, you enter your user-account.
Copy the files below into your home-directory. Then open a terminal-window.
Now you have to create a password for the root.

So, let me see if I understood it well :
1 - I create a file starting with 00 (like 00_MsiPowerSuspend) in the
/etc/pm/sleep.d with something like this :
#!/bin/sh
pm-powersave true
Until now this works, I can now Suspend with the "pm-powersave false" option
selected. Now I need to find

Put in the command I suggested above there, that way it will be run just

Hi grimlok,
The Login Manager is GDM so the only things that you can (easily at least)
change is the wallpaper - and even for that "simple" task you will need few
terminal commands. Otherwise you can use another Login Manager like lightDM

Indeed, so go make a free implementation of it. :)
It's convenient to trust others and accept a division of labour.
I don't always choose principle over convenience. Am I not really a part of
the free software community?
It's good that ideologies exist, so that we have frames of reference for
talking to eachother.
But I think that ideolo
Hello there ! Thank you for the help. But it didn't help at all, even in the
performance mode or directly at 2,40ghz the problem still persists. I don't
think that it has anything to do with the CPu Speed at all since the problem
stops (even at 800mhz) when the mouse is in top of another wind
Well this is actually something I could try, but how to ?
Looks like that picker is biased toward really only few upon looking at the

i wont be trying that out. As, currently there is no problem. So, i rather
not cause any.
I have however made a note, just in case.

Hello all again,
I have been looking into trying to change my login theme, and maybe even
adding some shell themes to trisquel, the only thing is that it doesn't seem
to be the easy drag and drop of Ubuntu and the rest of Gnome... Is there

Atlast got Trisquel6 running properly.
The solution was to switch to Metacity instead of the default Compiz. I had
to remove Compiz completely as after reboot it kept showing its

It took quite a while to figure out the solution, lots of reb
For the bug reporting I agree with you it need to be done. But some changes

We can't use those applications without the new GTK changes. So we need to be

just beautiful, but they are also very buggy and too much simp
