nice, but i think that will contribute to name the OS linux rather than
gnu/linux, the gnu part isn't so explicit for a new user. it seems to me that
this logo was for a new distro rather than for general porpouse. that's my
point of view, i don't mean to be critical, it look nice, but this
Indeed, it's not a well designed logo and I certainly don't recommend it
for use, because GNU is depicted as a _detail_ of LINUX. This can't be
right considering GNU is the system and Linux is just its core at center
(kernel).
You can also read Dragora's developer response:
I was alt+tabbing when suddenly my screen froze. I can't even switch
terminals. I know this is possible but I'm dissapointed and was not expecting
that. I was forced to reboot it with press-holding the power button. This
also is not the first time it's happened to me.
Happens. To rule out corrupted memory you can boot off a Trisquel live
CD/DVD/USB and run the mem checker all night long.
And when it happens again, it's best to try REISUB before resorting to the
power switch. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq
Haha, I knew exactly that some people will come along giving their Gnu isn't
portraied important enough speech.
Well, for me I can say that you've done a really great job!
Looks awesome.
This is a VERY serious issue. Why is there not even an official comment? I
feel very uncomfortable recommending Trisquel to anyone at this point if
there are no guaranteed security updates.
The logo looks great, but GNU should be emphasized more AFAIK, GNU
contributes far much more than Linux.
you asked for opinion so: I even think that the horn in the logo isn't so

The symbols already exixts I don't think that reinvent one it is good idea,
you can upgrade the already existing one, but create a mixed one that seems

To my knowledge libreboot only supports the thinkpad x60 (and t60). The duo
core cpus in thinkpad x60 are t2300 and t2400. The libreboot bios will only
work on the thinkpad x60? If another computer brand has a t2300 or t2400 cpu
build in, libreboot will not work on the computer?
There are several other CPUs used in X60/X60s/X60t, like L7400 (64-bit
Core 2 Duo). Every board needs a different coreboot/libreboot build:
X60 and T60 need different while they have the same chipsets and CPUs.
Northbridge (i945), southbridge (ICH-7) and EC are more important than
CPUs for boot
Spot on, there is usually very little that the firmware has to do with the
CPU's, the motherboard is really the deciding factor.
It happens to the best of machines and practically all operating systems,
some times things just go wrong and your computer starts day dreaming. If it
becomes a chronic problem then there is a major issue.
Hello Aprendiz_de_linux,
See you there then :)
Thank you.

I know, I do not know more than people around here and fsf. I have found this
via mainboard. It says, there are linux drivers available. I cannot find a
location where the drivers can be downloaded. The drivers
https://viaembedded.github.io/docs/epia-p910-user/drivers.html#linux-driver-support
suggests them having nonfree drivers, I don't know what free drivers
exist for the GPU in VX11H (Openchrome lists it as unsupported).
For free boot firmware: the chipset is not supported in coreboot,

Guys
I own an old Apple PowerBook G4 17 Laptop (January, 2005], I'm willing to
install a new OS but the problem that I see is the Toshiba processor not
lintel dual core. Any hints?
PowerPC, not supported by Trisquel (might be easy to port: Ubuntu
supports it). Significantly different than libreboot-supported
computers discussed in this thread.

but the really dangerous part of those bugs was their lifetime before

No, that gets it backwards. The really dangerous part is when the
vulnerability is public and can be exploited by anyone. It is critical that
vulnerabilities are patched as soon as they become public.

I know some of you do have access to Ruben - he ignores outsiders
and has ignored my offers to help in the past, but if you do have
contact with Ruben, the most important message I'd give him is that
he cannot do everything.
I'm also a Trisquel outsider here.
Regarding security, although I'm
Why is there not even an official comment?
I think there was - See the bug report.
