My router has printed tp link tl wr841nd v.8.2 on the box and the router.
I contacted about a handful sellers until I found one who could and would
grab the router from the stock before selling. He would not break the box
because I would not buy if not version 8.2. As stated, the version
Tor is secure. Short of security bugs, there are only three ways to subvert
it:
1. Control or monitor *all* Tor nodes.
2. Directly attack the computer of the user trying to be anonymous.
3. Taking advantage of user stupidity.
I seriously doubt the NSA or any organization is succeeding at
In the latest IceCat fingerprint seems to be the same of Tor Browser's.
You can check this by testing if Tor is enabled; usually if the test page
recognises you are using a browser different from TBB, it will tell you so
with a short phrase coloured in yellow. However, with the latest
I am serious. The NSA certainly lies in its rare public statements. What I
linked to are internal top-secret slides that Edward Snowden revealed...
using Tor for all his communications.
If you insinuate that I participated to that thread under another nickname,
you are wrong.
The NSA certainly does not control every Tor node. It controls some but that
is not enough: see the slides 21 and 22 (a list of six questions) of

for what they consider(ed?) to try with their nodes.

isn't better use the tor bundlr rather than tor button? i'm asking cause

TOR is a trap.
I disagree.
But Tor is only part of the solution (it doesn't handle OS security for
instance).
And Tor isn't perfect either(Learn about entry guards issues).
But it's the best we have right now for that kind of tasks.
It's already been shown that some of the routers are in
No, not you, the comment above you.
https://check.torproject.org/?lang=en_US doesn't seem to check the
fingerprint very much. In fact, IceCat's fingerprint is different from Tor
Browser. With scripts enabled, it reports a different time zone than TBB, and
it reports your actual screen resolution whereas TBB reports the window
It might not be easy, but it's not so hard as to make Tor meaningless, is
what I meant.
Complement: stupid is not really the proper adjective for the users falling
into EPICFAIL. They are more ignorant of an issue: when you access the same
site using Tor and not using it, you can be de-anonymized. That leads to a
question: does the IceCat browser let the same bookmarks
Hey Eric,
I'm trying to install Ruby, Ruby Gems, and Git, to try OpenShift. I followed
the Ubuntu instructions here:
https://developers.openshift.com/en/getting-started-client-tools.html#ubuntu
I'm using Trisquel 7. Do you know what the problem might be?
sudo apt-get install ruby-full
sudo apt-get install ruby rubygems git-core
Here is the wifi options at ThinkPenguin:

For a Dell Latitude D620, I would assume you would need either the
'Penguin Wireless N Mini PCI for GNU / Linux' or the 'Penguin Wireless N PCI
Card for GNU / Linux v5 /w
This is exciting news. Trisquel has been the first Linux I have used
exclusively. I have used it now for over a year, and have thoroughly enjoyed
it. I have been able to use it for all things that I do, including work,
which is a Windows networking environment.
I am anxious to try this
For the record, I've solved the problem tweaking with Jupiter app, it's a
power management tool. Anyway, I guess I should install TLP instead, I hope
it works with Asus EEE 1000HD which I use on a daily basis.
Linux
GNU/Linux! :)
(See https://gnu.org/gnu/gnu-linux-faq.html )
Glad to hear you like Trisquel, windoze is for decepticons anyways!
@Muhammed, ask your question in a new topic. Anyway, this is a bug in
Trisquel 7, https://trisquel.info/en/issues/12455
no version 8.2 routers are out for sale.
Correct. However there not readily available on the market. I contacted
roughly 50 - 70 different sources and none of them had v8.2. It may be that I
missed some if it was a person/entity that only had 1-10 available. However

I want to keep all the stuff I have on my laptop now. I currently have over
500 GB of music and I keep getting more so I need to get a new drive. I don't
want to go through the trouble of setting up a new internal drive. I would
rather have an external one.
I'm using a thinkpad t500 right
Lembas is the reason people associate the free software movement with
autistic people. I can't even ask for some help without him jumping in and
acting like a complete autist. I just want some help finding a hard drive.
Bump.
@andrew there is still a difference between plaintext traffic going through
ISPs and routers VS going through someones private server. Your ISP may lose
customers if they are found to be modifying wikipedia, a malice node may have
something to gain by doing so.

@SuperTramp83 Agreed but I'm interested in proven several times that Tor is
not that reliable in keeping you anonimous annoymous*. So far I remember 3
instances, one before gaurds were implemented, 2nd because users use torrent
clients and its just obvious and 3rd which IDK was spectated or
From the Tor website:
If your attacker can watch the traffic coming out of your computer, and also
the traffic arriving at your chosen destination, he can use statistical
analysis to discover that they are part of the same circuit.

Just to point out that there are far more reasons to use Tor other than
avoiding government surveillance, e.g. avoiding corporate surveillance.

It's not quite that bad, but yes, it's not perfect. You have to understand
what Tor provides and what it doesn't provide and follow the advice of the
Tor developers to use it safely.
There was a two week period where you were told to assume your traffic had

The problem is ISPs are already interfering with your traffic. Try typing in
a non-existent domain name for instance in the web address bar. Chances are
you'll be redirected to an ISP web page. This violates the standards. Try
downloading a torrent. It's likely you'll discover somebody it
