I have to admit, the simplicity of it all does keep me very happy with
Trisquel on top of all the freedom. :D
Just for those interested, RC4 image is now available -

Hello,
I'm currently running Trisquel 7.0 amd64 and I checked updates as normal and
a message window pops up stating:
'Not all updates can be installed' with an option to do a 'Partial Upgrade'
to install as many updates as possible or press 'Continue' to install updates
as normal but
Greetings ladies and gentlemen:
I haven't found Compiz fusion in the package list of Trisquel 7.
Did the Trisquel developers think that this window manager was not important?
It seems odd because the trisquel-wm script still let's you switch to the
compiz window manager but no effects where
There is already a thread on the subject at

(no answer though)
To celebrate I'm hereby issuing a $50 coupon code for any computer purchased

If anyone knows what could be happening with compiz in Trisquel, please,
share.

continue on the stable track after it is released, or should I just wait
until it is released?
I'm in the same situation. Renting ownCloud storage from a vendor providing
it on Norwegian soil (protected by our own country laws).
However, there is no ownCloud client in Trisquel v6.
How did you solve this challenge of syncing to ownCloud?
Until now I have mounted the webdav disk and do
It's an old enough Radeon for the approach from
https://trisquel.info/en/forum/trisquel-70-flash-disk-and-amd-raedonlimited-resolution
to possibly work: unblacklist the radeon module from /etc/modprobe.d,
run update-initramfs -u and reboot.

Finally new release and new shining homepage on trisquel.info.
Congrats - thanks for all the effort to the developers!!
Thank you very much. Keep up the good work. Your effort is highly
appreciated. :-)
I like the new style - it is sooo trisquel!!
:) Exciting!
I didn't see Tor listed under the feature list. I wonder what happened. It
looked like that was going to be included.
Upgraded from v6 to v7.
Now Gnome is the deskop mngr. and I used Unity on v6.
Do I need to install Unity again and if yes - how? Previous apt-get install
unity-2d does not work.
The new website looks awesome! Great job! :)

You will also need to open up a port on your home router to allow SSH
conncetions. In addition, you will need to either jot down your IP address,
or set up dynamic DNS (unless you have a static IP address at home).
Best,

A list of packages does not help an average user :)
Here is what I see...:

This is the first I have heard of openshift, thanks for sharing!
It looks like the Tor Button is still packaged with the [optional]
Icecat. But Icecat is not the default browser as was initially
planned.
Oh very swish indeed.
If you run the Synaptic package manager and check out the broken packages
(under custom filters, a button in the lower-left corner of the window),
you may identify package that are raising troubles in your system.
The last section of today's review of Ubuntu by DistroWatch explains it all.
If you run the Synaptic package manager and check out the broken packages
(under custom filters, a button in the lower-left corner of the window),
you may identify package that are raising troubles in your system.
Now, you'll find compiz in Synaptic. :)
This should be fixed now. Reload your lists. (With some mirrors it can take a
while to be fixed)
I also suggest using key-based authentication instead of the default
password-based authentication for stronger security.

Hey guys, I tried using synaptic to add xfce4 and xfce4-goodies and I'm
having problems, specifically with installing xfce4-session. The error is as
follows:
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/xfce4-session_4.10.1-3ubuntu5_amd64.deb: trying to
overwrite '/etc/xdg/autostart/xscreensaver.desktop',
I'm curious, what is the reason for keeping Abrowser the default?
Well done,
thanks and congrats !
Congratulations! Downloading now, and about to upgrade both of my computers.
:-)
Ok - will wait a while. Does not work yet - My packages are retrieved from -

Great :)
Tkx guys!
yeah, it's beautiful!
Every documentation page now has an up button at the bottom. To go up one
level in the documentation. Useful!

I just want to say the new site looks great, and I'm so happy to be a member
and to be apart of this. Thank you!
It seems to be some nasty package rename issue. I fixed it for myself by
force-removing (with dpkg --force-depends) ubuntu-release-upgrader-core and
ubuntu-release-upgrader-gtk and installing in their place
trisquel-release-upgrader-core and trisquel-release-upgrader-gtk.
I was hoping that there Copy from Trisquel(gnome) in one language like
Trisquel6
