I read that the leader of Lavabit does not use email, his stated : 'If You
Knew What I Know About Email, You Might Not Use It'.
What are the dangers that a citizen can encounter using for personal use for
example gmail?
I used for all my personal porpouse gmail for years and now i regreat

Hi there.

Is there somebody in the Trisquel organization who thinks a computer not
running X11 is an abomination?
if you run the netinstall cd you can chose to boot to a cli interface
also when you start trisquel with gnome3 if you hold ctrl and then f2 you go
into a cli interface
Thanks a lot Lembas, that explanation was very graphical... hahahaha.
Taking in account your experience, what partition table scheme would be
better for install three GNU/Linux systems in a spinning disk? What for a
solid sate?
Do you think it's necessary make a partition for the /boot?
Vielen Dank vinzn. I looked in the automade Makefile and found that the Nmap
developers had already considered this possibility: prefix was configured as
/usr/local .
The packaged nmap is installed in /usr/bin/nmap and so it was necessary only
to `make install` and the SVN Nmap was
Email is pretty risky itself but using google is much worse.
They know who you are, what you like, who you associate with. And if you also
use(d) other google services besides the email, they have a very complete
picture of you. They probably know much more about you than your closest

Hi guys.
I think no so many people take into account the social use of the tech tools.
For example, some years ago I knew the case of a girl who was jailed because
she used Tor. Beyond the rigth to anonimize our work on internet, I wonder:
Anybody warned to that girl about the consecuences
The libudev not found problem was mysteriously fixed by installing libusb
from the latest tarball (libusb-1.0.19). Then libudev is found in
lib/i386-linux-gnu/.
In the contrary case, I was thinking... it is possible that, if a person
tries to protect himself, (mail cripting, no social newtorks, tor, personal
mail server, and other things etc...), end up in the crosshairs of the
powerful people/companies? I mean of normal people, not someone who

You can host your own server or use one of this recomendations:

Nevermind if yours contacts are 100% gmail users or almost all of them, still
google can track your messages, but you can ecrypt the info tho.

This has been asked and solved in previous posts, but before version 7 came
out, and now it's a problem again.
I want my system to boot up to text consoles and not start X11 until I ask it
to do that. Two solutions have been given:
In /etc/init/gdm.conf
under start on, change and runlevel
HTML5 Video Everywhere is working fine as well.
All this is relevant for old fashioned spinning disks, modern solid state
drives should have uniform performance.
This should prove useful

I.e. the speed is fastest at the edge.
You can test the performance of your disk withsudo
Well said Lembas! I would just like to make it absolutely clear that what
you refer to as complete picture is a complete psychological profile! Some
dangerous scary shit that is..
p.s - I hear very often this I don't care or I have nothing to hide so my
answer tends to be: Oh, you don't

I had noticed that via provides linux drivers for some of their mainboards.
Without expecting any reaction from via, I wrote them an email asking why

Food for thought:
Most people use big corporate servers for email, like Google. So if you

corporations, and likely your local government by proxy, can find out who you
communicate with and when.
However, if you and someone
