The apps on the desktop look pretty proprietary to me; at least i've never encountered them in the free world.

sudo apt-get remove --purge tor I think that did the trick; thank you. :-) Do you really use Abrowser and not Icecat? I had Icecat installed some time ago and removed it again afterwards. Maybe tor was just an artifact from that older installation.

It wouldn't **prevent** you from using popcorntime. Unless maybe you stream a 1080p movie that is 4 hours long.. But yeah - better make it 3 gb or 4 gb. That way you can stream 2 fullhd movies without having to close and reopen popcorntime in between

I can watch YT from Epiphany (which isOK, a browser), albeit from Parabola. Maybe you can make a shortcut from Epiphany/Midori which opens a window staright to Midori/Epiphany. In Epiphany they're called webapps and can be added through beside-location-bar menu/Save as Web

I'm hearing the same thing from a lot of people, Allwinner are not Free software friendly. It will run via the Linux kernel but how blob ladened it is to actually run is another issue altogether. What is starting to puzzle me is that the cost of boards like this just keep getting cheaper
