Excuse me for replying here but maybe applying again won't hurt? (Anyway
might you know why it didn't work last time out?)
- It still would be nice to get the FSF approval, but I don't think I will
actively apply for one again
How come?
Almost forgot to post this: The current version of GNUetertics by default
contains an Iceweasel addon video download helper that is not free
software. The addon will be removed from the next release. If you decide to
try this distro and find anything other that is not libre, please post here

I've had Triquel almost a year and had problems for several months but I've
procrastinated and worked around the problems by accessing my jpegs and
gedits through applications. But there's no GUI, no calling up the home
folder, no icons on my desktop and no drag and drop
Either a USB mouse or a PS/2 mouse would cost less than an adapter ...
anyway, get plenty of spares.
More followups:
The pesky motherboard may have been an unfortunate combination of flaky
power supply, rejected desktop case, and/or intermittents in the motherboard.
At times I could get the power LED to come on by shorting the power switch
leads to each other with a hard-drive
cp: omitting directory ‘/home/user/’
That happens because you did not use the option --recursive (-r):
$ cp -r /home/user /computer/media/user/TOSHIBA
But you had actually better use option --archive (-a):
$ cp -a /home/user /computer/media/user/TOSHIBA
'info cp' explains those options:
`-a'

I suggest you ask the FSF why so they can help you understand the
reasons. I'd be surprised if they didn't give a list of reasons in response.

I'm a bit confused, no GUI you say but then you talk about sidebar. Do you
mean on another computer?
You'll want to use the -r parameter for recursive. And then you need to
specify /full/path/to/where/you/mounted/that/disk/
The easiest way is to use a live CD or USB to do the job.
And if

ive had a bug with the current trisquel like this. i booted into
trisquel 6 and it was able to re-enable it.
Hello all,
I was given a Toshiba laptop today for work I did on another laptop and
decided to see how it ran Trisquel GNU/Linux. Much to my surprise it seems
to be able to support Trisquel nearly completely because it has the Qualcomm
Atheros AR242x / AR542x chipset.
It had said
Well, restarting has re-enabled it, but the card still doesn't seem to be
able to find my wifi network...
Very interesting topic! I want to buy a new laptop and, in these days, I'm
thinking the same things... I know little about eletronics, I read the link
that says what are the Companies that sell computers with GNU/Linux
preinstalled, ( https://www.gnu.org/links/companies.en.html ), maybe a
Good that you have been able to fix the issue at hand. Now, in spite of all
the other paragraphs in this thread, there might actually be a number of real
issues which prevents software from altering the MBR.
So first, for clearance sake, what is an MBR and what is the GPT. Both are

I have panel application opening powers. But I can't open HOME or any other

open Image Viewer or GEDIT applications, then click the open (a file) menu, a

ha! if what you say is true, that's plain stupid!
Trisquel is open source!!
Now I'll send the link to this page to the FSF. I expect Trisquel to be taken
out of the fsf approved list by tomorrow!! I used open source as word
related to Trisquel just now!
I really don't think what you are

Then suddenly someone spotted that one of the users used the term open

free software.
Hmmm.that's a tad odd. Maybe they just wanted you to politely advise the
user to use free software instead?
Because...I
Hi, developer of ConnochaetOS here.
- Hardware requirements were released with RC1, see
https://forum.connochaetos.org/viewtopic.php?id=13
- Yes, the distro was discontinued, but was brought back - this time not
build entirely from scratch but based on repos of Slackware and Salix,
Early in my career, I realized that changing jobs meant moving to a new
domicile, and that the higher rent would consume most of my improved income,
so I jumped off that runaway train.
Now we're seeing a similar situation in computers, with an arms race
between hardware and software
