However, I fired this command eight minutes ago and it has not output
anything yet!
Still nothing after two hours and a half! However it clearly is stupid to
shuffle all English words just to randomly pick six of them. Here is a rather
obscure command that only randomly chooses six 2-bytes
Try:
http://btdigg.org/
It's the only torrent search service I use.
Besides you can use search providers which use Searx (which is also free
software), like the following ones:
* http://searx.me
* https://framabee.org/
With these services, you can search for torrents using
"filetype:torrent"
Again: see
https://trisquel.info/forum/partition-table-suggested-installing-three-gnulinux-systems
I would be using libreboot. :)
But I have never manually set up paritions in any linux distro even ubuntu or
trisquel.
I was wondering how much to give to each parition and which format each
should be in...
See

That turns people who really need anonymity harder to spot though.
What quantumgravity is trying to explain is that pseudo-randomness really is
a problem if you use it a lot. Like every millisecond. Patterns then appear.
It is not random anymore. When you run it once, it usually is good enough
because the attacker cannot know the state of the system when
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dm-crypt/Encrypting_an_entire_system#Encrypted_boot_partition_.28GRUB.29
There isn't a particular distribution of partitions that is mandated. The
partition that /boot is located in is the only one that matters to the boot
loader. As jxself mentioned, non-Libreboot systems need to leave /boot
unencrypted, so /boot should be its own partition to minimize that. You
Still in France, there is the April association: http://www.april.org/en/
It is the French equivalent of the FSF. The Quadrature du Net would be closer
to the EFF. But the overlapping is large: many members of the April are
members of the Quadrature du Net (in the same way that many members
I think one of your problems is you're using IceCat and LibreJS. You
shouldn't do that. You should use the Tor Browser Bundle. Go to the security
settings and choose one of the security levels that disables JavaScript
entirely.
Not for me.
When I visit thepiratebay.se for example, I'm presented with a cloudflare
captcha screen that I cannot pass, because there's no captcha given.
It's like this for a ton of sites, not just torrenting sites.
but that should not be...
I can use perfectly fine almost all the torrent sites without js in TorBB.
ja...@bluehome.net, Mar 10 Mai 2016 23:51:01 CEST:
It's easy: In the netinstall select "Use entire disk and set up
encrypted LVM" (or words to that effect.) And Ta Da, everything is
encrypted except for /boot.
Yes my dear, it's easy, but it's not what was asked.
Actual full disk
I'm running Gnu Icecat in private mode, so Tor is running and so is LibreJS.
I cannot use any of the torrenting sites to search files or get the magnet
link.
Anyone know of any sites that will work around that?
It's easy: In the netinstall select "Use entire disk and set up encrypted
LVM" (or words to that effect.) And Ta Da, everything is encrypted except for
/boot. That can't be unless you have libreboot because proprietary BIOSes do
not normally include supported for reading encrypted boot
Every time this question is asked the release date is pushed out 4 more
years. ;)
It is now Sunday, July 18, 2106. ;)
also which parts are most needed to be encrypted? and which parts are not
important..
how would I go about paritioning everything,
var, root, lib, dev, etc, usr and beyond...
I have 209 gb on my x200. I have libreboot and I wondered,
What is the best way to set it all up?
and what pitfalls to watch out for if i were to use boot in the encrypting
process.
I have the same issue when my laptop is on and off it's base (connected to
DVI).
Didn't go through the issue yet, but I want to try to refresh xrandr, if that
makes sense.
The reason is it's always right when I turn the laptop on.
It doesn't when I try to put it on or off the base/DVI
For encryption, the more random the passphrase is, the stronger the
encryption. For a root password this might not matter as much. But if you
have someone trying to brute-force it, then random becomes very valuable
indeed. Allow me to refer to the Diceware FAQ:
It would I think. With VPN provider it always comes down to one thing: is it
reliable and cn you trust it not to log? Not an easy question. Here an
interesting thread on the two ->
>ScullyItsMulder
cool nick ;)
and the "US Government" gives money to Tor.
I don't see an issue here except for the fact that I imagine there are people
at Google that like the FSF - that's certainly not impossible.
Would it be ok to remove the VPN and just connect through Bridges?
I believe you are correct and this must occur at the time of installation. I
believe it even displays a warning about the importance of doing it at that
time.
I really like riseup's website. It's full of very interesting text. You can
find a lot in there.
I am sure they aren't even sure themselves. Hopefully we can get a release
soon :) Excited for it.
Hmm, well if the lenovo x200 indeed has that wifi adapter blacklisted, then
yes, you will need to use an external one or flash in libreboot. Actually I
did not consider that when you first asked the question, my bad..
Thanks. I wonder why I didn't know about them earlier. If you know other
organisations, sites the like that works with similar objectives, please let
me know.
Allow me.
La Quadrature du net - "the squaring of the net"
They are an internet freedom campaigning organisation.
They want:
- "Human rights in digital society"
- "Free and open access to the world wide web"
- "The freedom to share culture and knowlege online"
There is an English and French
It is indeed true that the Lenovo computers have a whitelist. It is standard
practice in the industry.
I'll put it this way, although the card may fit in the X200, the whitelist
will reject it. The computers sold by Minifree have the Atheros WiFi but it
says on the website that the
So now I'm confused: According to SuperTramp83 I can exchange it, but
according to Ignacio.Agullo I'm stuck until I reflash with Libreboot (which
I'm not capable of).
I really hope SuperTramp83 is right!
SupeTramp83, please enlighten me...
I agree, but I would much rather find the argumentation or perhaps the way to
present arguments that'll make people knot, wonder and revise...
I will get back to you on that.
Need to get to the projector to test that.
Thanks Magic Banana.
If using "Displays" (in the "System Settings") does not work, I would try
with 'xrandr' in a terminal. Does it list the two screens when called without
any argument?
I want to know how to activate whatever takes care of the multi-screen
display.
If my laptop is already on and plug in the vga cable to the projector,
nothing happens.
ONLY when i turn the computer on with the vga cable plugged in is when the
multi screen happens.
I tried to write my forum name in Arabic. I still remember something. I took
a short course of Arabic decades ago.
لولدير
It was not supposed to be taken literally. I mean, those who know won't give
any clues or updates before they are ready to release. No conspiracy here.
Those who know don't know
Why would they keep such a fact from the community?
It would make no sense.
I suppose you've missed this.
https://trisquel.info/en/forum/do-we-have-date-trisquel-8-release
I guess the answer is: when ready. Those who know won't tell, the rest can
only guess.
Yeah. This is called Arabic Script [1] and is written Right-to-Left.

I've recently read article New cycle, what we achieved and what's to come. I
am curious to know any approximate release date/month declared or announced?
This seems to be how they write Uruk GNU/Linux in Arabic.
أوروك جنو / لينكس
This DOES looks interesting, I may try it out. ;)
Uruk looks really nice and beautiful. I like it.
It takes a while for Trisquel to prepare a new release, after releasing
Ubuntu LTS image. Uruk is based on Trisquel, so it is again going to take
some more time. So it will take more time for Uruk users to get their hands
on new stable software packages.
