Thank you! That solved my problem. I changed the 'Download From' drop down
box in the Software & Updates window to 'Main Server' and it's working fine
now. Not sure how I had an old url selected in there but good to know about
this setting now. Thanks! :)

I used to use the Joindiaspora pod until I found out it was a subsidiary of

Have you deleted your APT cache? That's all the packages you've ever
downloaded. You can do that withsudo apt-get cleanor somewhere in the
Synaptic package manager too if you wish to do it graphically.
