I agree with albertoefg, lightweightness might not be prior #1 in default
roll. IMHO accessibility and language supp goes before in the default roll.
However, I do see a case for trisquel-mini. Even there a basic feeling of
trisquel is is good to be kept. Going dwm + uzbl + mc + st might not
-BleachBit or some other ComputerJanitor
-Seahorse for GPG keys
-Xarchiver or Squeeze, Caja didn't seem to handle archives.
I agree with t3g is more an special case software now. Not mavy need it,
probably better to keep it on repository
But even if not 4.9 will be available from https://jxself.org/linux-libre/
Lightweight isn't everything. Trisquel being geared toward beginners, it has
to also be usable.
So if PCmanFM recognises external drives like Nautilus/(probably) Caja does,
then ok. If not, it's just too lightweight in my opinion.
My short experience with GNU/Linux (and other non-GNU but
"What is Trisquel's policy on Snap packages? Are they allowed?"
I don't know that Trisquel has a policy on Snap packages one way or the
other. My proposal is that all software added to Trisquel be compliant with
https://www.gnu.org/distros/free-system-distribution-guidelines.html
Actually, that one is a meta pacakge not the actual kernel.
The exact one to download depends on the CPU architecture. Normally the
package manager will figure that out automatically but since they're doing it
manually:

This can be used as inspiration. But Maybe Trisquel 7 already has all this
kind of programs.
According to this (https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=105714), Caja
is a fork of Nautilus.
So I don't care about the name, as long as it does what I suggested earlier.
Is Chromium in a better place from a libre perspective than it was years ago?
Nautilus is trash. MATE uses Caja by default and Trisquel 8 should stick to
that.
Maybe you can use a WiFi USB adapter compatible with fully free GNU distros
such as Trisquel.
I've been checking https://jxself.org/linux-libre/, and the instructions
there are very clear. But I don't have Internet connection on Trisquel right
now, so: Which would be the best way to install, for instance,
linux-libre-lts kernel, on a Trisquel without connection?
Thanks a lot.
I suggest to keep Nautilus (instead of anything like PCmanFM or Thunar) for
the simple reason that it manages external HDDs (even with passwords) really
simply. At least, not Thunar, it takes too much effort to make this work.
For managing wireless connections, I don't know the other options
The new Pokemon3D is not related to us. It's a continuation that nilllzz,
creator of P3D-Legacy, is doing.
We will try to port the game within a month. It's not hard to do a working
version, I have tested the game in OSX and Ubuntu already, but we don't know
how much bugs we will encounter.

Make sure you install and use (select in GRUB) the **latest** kernel

In order to build the game's solution, you need the following:

Microsoft Visual Studio (2010 and up)

The game is written in Visual Basic and was compiled targeting the .Net

This is a better option
I think keepass2 is better as it is cross plataform :)
Still getting used to Claws mail but my frist impression is that is really

Thanks,
My ideas was more to know here de directory of the dictionaries are.
So I can add there the"new" portuguese dictionary since GNU is still using
the old one.

I think there are more things to look at that just how heavy in resources it
is.

Hmm, I saw one that was non legacy, perhaps you don't host that one then...
nevermind then, https://github.com/nilllzz/Pokemon3D is the gpl2 version.
Anyways though, how long do you think it will take out of curiosity?
Seconded. It's great on Uruk.
Also we will probably have system-config-printer-gnome in Trisquel 8 because
it has been installed by default in Ubuntu MATE 16.04

We do not have mate-disk-utility. It is gnome-disk-utility
What is Trisquel's policy on Snap packages? Are they allowed? I say cuz the
latest VLC is available as one and I'm not sure if there are theming issues.
Its one way to have the latest without a PPA.

Ok, low resources. Yet we’re talking about Trisquel Mate, aren’t we?
Tails dropped Claws Mail in favor of Thunderbird on Gnome, that’s why I
didn’t think of ClawsMail.
Maybe a little away from "standard" usage but..
Inkscape is the greatest piece of software for graphics I've ever used.
Just in case you're wondering, no, it doesn't have the same role as GIMP, as
GIMP doesn't fully support SVG, while Inkscape does.
my two cents for VLC ;)

Whatever is the lightest on battery usage/memory is good enough for me. ;)
No but how many people actually really use GIMP ?..it's a classic yes and a
great software but far too hard for most users..
Didn't work
I keep trying to just run this script in /etc/init.d, too.
I run 'update-rc.d' on that script, and no errors come up.
The link has been added successfully to my rc directories, too.

That's okay, as long as you intend to do it in the future, I will wait.

why should include both?
You can also look at tuxemon, wich is a very good original pokemon rewriting

Not finished yet but promising. It is a total conversion with complete story

Exciting news this new Trisquel Mate version :-) I couldn’t use Trisquel 7

Audacious is really good for audio files. No need for all kinds of extra

Simple Scan is really good now. :-)
Why should we install leafpad when we have pluma (default MATE graphical text
editor)?
what is the use of having it by default? Does it do the same job as GIMP?
vim and nano are both installed by default in Ubuntu MATE 16.04 and also, I
think nano is suitable for newbies not vim. Anyway, it seems that
strikethroughing it is a better option that erasing it.
I would remove nano from the list, as we already have Vim.

No, it's not a workaround but the fundamental passage of time at question
here. We can't possibly build drivers today for the gadgets of tomorrow.
Thanks a lot, jxself, I will check that now.
