Yeah, this has always been a problem. The torrents for the development
versions have never worked.
That's awesome! Your guidance is appreciated.

No idea but I do confirm your issue, using rtorrent :/
Just that: /etc/rc.local is executed with administrative permissions.
Write a line before the 'exit' statement (and after "#!/bin/sh -e").
So, when the black screen appeared, I tried the Ctrl+Alt+F1 combination which
made ~3/4 of the screen turn to the green/blue background with Trisquel logo,
while the rest of the screen was distorted. Then, I retried the combination
(because, although the Trisquel logo was glowing, nothing
I downloaded the trisquel_8.0_amd64.iso.torrent file from
http://jenkins.trisquel.info/makeiso/iso/. Transmission gives me the
following error, when adding the file: "Tracker returned error: Requested
download is not authorized for use with this tracker".
What is the issue?

Only that? not gksu or anything? And at the same line as the 'exit' statement
or the line above?

It works here (Abrowser 58.0.2), normally. Try to do what I wrote here,
maybe:
https://trisquel.info/forum/disconnet-addon-will-not-install-abrowser#comment-129059
On Trisquel 7, to call the script /usr/local/bin/max-fan at the init:
Edit (here with GEdit but you can use any text editor) /etc/rc.local:
$ gksu gedit /etc/rc.local
Write that line before the 'exit' statement:
/usr/local/bin/max-fan
Save the file.
Go ahead! :-)
I would try a more recent kernel, taken from jxself's repository:

Remove it
sudo apt remove mate-orca
or turn of autostart
System --> Preferences --> Personal --> Startup Applications

I'm directed here: https://trisquel.info/en/browser/addons/searxme
But when I click on "Install extension", the next page says "Your version of

I've attached a screenshot.

Magic Banana's suggestion above to create some scripts that you can easily
run should work as well.
How do one do that?

Hi thank you for tuning in on this issue.
I have tried your suggestion among many other things unfortunately.
I love Trisquel 8. Let me start this post by saying that. I love Trisquel 8.
What a time to be alive.
Anyway: everytime I install Trisquel 8, Orca Screen Reader is enabled and is
impossible to turn off.
Any tips?
On the 'Alle manuals' page under 'Media' I think there should be an entrance
called 'Media center', under which there should be an entrance called 'Kodi'.
I was actually in the middle of doing it, but got second thought about what
is the 'right' way to do it. I would like advice on this, and
Just installed Trisquel on a 8GB Ram laptop and wondering if anyone else has
had this problem. The install went fine but there's always a brief time-delay
when I'm typing on either the terminal or the writer program (I forgot the
name, could be LibreOffice?)
