Although installing some sort of "control panel"-type of software also
abstracts away pieces and can hinder learning because all you're doing is
click on a button that says "do it." Especially when someone's new and is
interested in learning things, as GNUbahn seems to be.
But if GNUbahn
When curl is not readily available, substitute with wget. It should work the
same in most cases.
The version in the Trisquel repos is 52.3.0 and noscript is not compatible
with it. Noscript requires verion 59 and above.
The way to install it is
"sudo apt install curl"
just in case you need it

What version of Icecat are you running? I'm using NoScript with Icecat
60.7 with no problems.

Hi! I setted up a Debian server a week ago for my first time. It's easy. To
install Wordpress I recommend you to download the latest version on Wordpress
website. You can use the www/html folder or another one according to your
configuration. First: install apache2, php and mysql. Second:
You're missing the program named curl. That's why it says it's not found.
Because it's not there. :) The package manager can be used to install it.
Actually I always wanted to have both Abrowser and Icecat on the latest
version in Trisquel since the icecat in the repos is very old though I guess
we can see Abrowser as the up to Firefox version and icecat is in a LTS (or
at least that's the way I see it).
Indeed. But currently I am using Abrowser because NoScript is currently not
available to IceCat (because of the version I think). And personally I find
NoScript to be such an interesting addon.
The optimal would be IceCat's focus on guiding the user paired with
Abrowser's version.
Following the instructions here
https://2019.www.torproject.org/docs/debian.html.en
which is being linked to form here https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/tor I get an
output with no "error" but it says at the beginning "sudo: curl: command not
found" followed by:
gpg: keyring
I have to agree with you that Abrowser does not have LibreJS by default.
There are also a few more extensions that icecat is featuring. I guess there
is nothing that you could not install in Abrowser if you know what you want.
I have to say that Icecat helps on setting you up for a free
I have saw the same behavior when trying to install it from that link.
So after playing a little with my computers I found out the following:
* My T400s does not have bluetooth XD
* My X220 does have bluetooth, for whatever reason there is not a GUI that
manages bluetooth by default; the only thing I found was a GUI for sending
files so I tried it and it
When trying to install the GNU LibreJS following the link that's here
https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/tweak-your-browser-enhance-security-and-privacy
I get the error message: "The add-on downloaded from this site could not be
installed because it appears to be corrupt."
Looking for anyone's opinion here. Here we have an OS that's certified by the
FSF and GnuProject and it's native browser vs the FSF and GnuProject's own
browser.
So freedom-wise they should be in the exact same landscape.
But what about other areas like performance, features, design (highly

I wonder if there will be a noticeable performance difference when using
Power9 in big endian mode?
It's amusing that the terms big and little endian come from Gulliver's
Travels.

Sounds like you found your answer. :)

Hello amuza, I have tried different kernels without having any issues. I've
used jxself's latest kernel and LTS kernel as well. I'll check Bluetooth with
one of my computers later today (my T400s which is my daily driver does not
have Bluetooth built in)
Thank you Banana.
But I feel a bit scared of going into such a mission just for Bluetooth, I
have never played with kernels.
And before considering the installation of a new kernel I wonder if am I the
only one having problems with Bluetooth on Trisquel 8.
Can anyone confirm Bluetooth

Hmm, that seems to have worked. No idea why, but thanks for the tip. I would
have tried that before posting here, but for some reason I thought
Transmission was part of the default desktop package, and that if I tried to

@jxself thank you for the good and in-depth explanation. I really appreciate
