Okay hey so I have the same problem, so what I understand is there was been a
update and has made trisquel unable to connect and find wifi options, is
there any solutions to this. What exactly is a wifi dongle and how does this
fix the problem?
Ethernet is simple and efficient and always works on Trisquel.
I always keep a Wi-Fi dongle stashed somewhere that I know works with
free operating systems. It works.

They are.
If I recall correctly isn't Brave browser the one that mines cryptocurrency
using your tabs? I don't think that anything proprietary should be used but
especially not something like that.
Chromium is still in Debian's main repository. Maybe Debian's guidelines are
looser than FSF's.
I follow your advice and "autoremove" was safe,
many thanks

MATE is highly customizable, and you can even make use of the tweaks made by
Ubuntu MATE distribution (as long as they are still free/libre).
As suggested by the error message, just simply delete the file(s)
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/*
sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*
I like a larger taskbar on the bottom so I increased the size. Then after
switching to the Mate Advanced Menu the icon is too small. If you want to get
a good icon for this it is in usr/share/pixmaps. I chose trisquel.png. Looks
great now. Simple tip. That's all. Happy hacking.
I was attempting to install Brave Browser on Trisquel using the first set of
