Apparently when packaging these fonts Debian concluded that the Ubuntu Font
License is not compatible with the Debian Free Software Guidelines. The
packaging discussion is [here][1], and the
Unfortunately, with AMD, the problem is not only to have "fancy" graphics but
also to have a reasonable resolution. On the contrary, Intel graphical
chipsets perfectly work. That is why I would choose Intel.

Thanks very much for the answers.
Glad to hear that a gaming computer works with free software.
Unfortunately I have no physical access to free hardware such as System76 and
related. Even weak hardware I now use is non-free. I just deemed ADM Ryzen a

Daydreaming.
Just today I erased a small (4GB) thumb drive which had some live system on
it, in order to use it for file transfer purposes instead. I could not
copy+paste anything on it because of write protection until I formatted it as

I seem to not have read your last paragraph. So you already knew.
Nevermind then!
One more note though:
You can make use of Guix package manager on foreign distro to get some
newer free software than usually available on Trisquel 8.

Hi Edward!
I think I'll have to be a party pooper for a bit.
There is no CPU without unfree parts or requiring unfree parts, which
has comparable to the CPUs you mentioned performance. At least that is
what I read.
The reason is, that the manufacturers and developers of newer CPUs put

Hi!
I know you asked for Emacs specifically, but I want to mention this, in
case you could make use of it system wide:
I use the following in my ~/.profile file:

I tried that on both my Trisquel desktop and laptop and when I put it into
terminal nothing happens. No errors but also nothing displayed on the screen
and nothing on screen.
I have a Ryzen 2600X on a Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming motherboard that I
can say boots into Trisquel 8.0 and 9.0 and the ethernet works. I haven't
really tested it much further as my GPU in that system doesn't work with
Trisquel (AMD 5700 XT). This testing was doen on stock kernels so

Hello.
First of all, thanks all developers here for Trisquel 9. GREAT system with a
lot of potential. I successfully built from source new golang version 1.14,
newest version of Codelite (fantastic!!! recommended). And a lot of other
wonderful things. Java works really great.

Hello,
I installed the vrms package directly from debian, since trisquel didn't have
it in the archives. This package checks for other non-free packages. I'm not
sure if it is effective or not. The point is that it has 4 non-free packages
in trisquel 9. That's the output:

If systemd does not even get in the way of rebootless kernel upgrades, then
this thread might have already come to its conclusion.
I don't know his name.

And maybe not even after kernel upgrades either. Rebootless kernel upgrades
are available from Canonical, Red Hat, and others.

I was thinking it was either Brad Pitt or Prince William of England, but your
