Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel 7 Release Date?

2014-07-30 Thread akifo
De-facto, Trusquel 7 is ready. I've successfully trisquelized Ubuntu 14.04 to Trusquel Belenos with this script https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/migrate-ubuntu-trisquel-without-reinstalling simply replacing release name. Everything works fine. So if you have Ubuntu or Trisquel 6 installed -

Yep. I mean — there is no point in configuring firewall whe using fail2ban.

If you aren't running any public server — there is no point in firewall. If you want to keep the only default server (ssh) — just use fail2ban and forget about it.

Re: [Trisquel-users] how to bypass web links blocking?

2014-01-30 Thread akifo
AFAIK it does. TBB launches it's own TOR listener.

Re: [Trisquel-users] how to bypass web links blocking?

2014-01-29 Thread akifo
apt-get install tor TOR starts it's own service listening on port 9050 - that's your SOCKS 5 proxy. You can also use Vidalia (GUI) or tor-arm (console) to manage it.

Re: [Trisquel-users] how to bypass web links blocking?

2014-01-28 Thread akifo
You can use smth like Jappix with TorBrowser. Other way is to install TOR and use it as proxy (Pidgin supports SOCKS proxy), or just start pidgin as torify pidgin.

Re: [Trisquel-users] proper/practical use of tor

2014-01-18 Thread akifo
I guess that torify command is good solution for turning all importent traffic to TOR. For example you can change your ~/.bashrc and add some aliases such as alias pidgin='torify pidgin' et cetera for all your network applications )

Should apt-p2p be included in future releases by default? Guess it would unload repo mirrors and can be faster then usual apt-get if all Trisquel users are on p2p. Am I wrong?
