I should have remembered if I had thought, said he. But I didn't think.

I don't think we need to be too concerned with older hardware. The 1st world
throws away more hardware than the third world knows what to do with.
Example (this may be a bit of an exaggeration above as it isn't third world
but I don't think my comment is far off the mark):

Chris, you're spot on.
Pass the suggestions on to Ruben. I don't go on #trisquel IRC much, and it's
been a long time since I've even used the system. But I do check on this
distro now and again to get the pulse of the fully-free distro movement.
If I couldn't keep Mini as polished as Standard and I18N, I'd drop it.
+1!
Better to release something that works as well as it can, and looks
polished. First impressions, accurate or not, are lasting ones.
If I remember I might. I'll probably talk to Rubén at LibrePlanet next week.
I believe he is going to that event again. Not sure who is paying although I
think it is being covered by someone. If not there are the Trisquel funds.
Its not my place to be directing the project although I don't
Well I for one use Trisquel Mini on my cheap underpowered netbook :) !
But I use the main edition on my workstation.
Maybe we could keep two editions, the difference being 3D graphics
support or not. Trisquel Mini would be the light, 2D edition, for
machines which lack either power or 3D
This is the LTS release. Just stick to it and your netbook will be dead
before the next major release.
It just won't be an issue any more.
There always seem to be major oversights like this with the Mini edition.
Ruben clearly doesn't have enough time to devote to it to make it adhere to
the same standards as Trisquel standard.
I feel like, at the same time he releases the standard edition, he should
announce an official
:) I think things are spread too thin as it is still. This move to LTS only
wasn't taken lightly. The development should focus on doing one thing right.
I'm using a desktop environment I can't stand right now. However it is better
for it to work than be something I prefer that doesn't.
Would you drop Mini if you were Ruben? :)
I do feel like Mini, and lightweight distributions in general, are getting a
bit less relevant than 2010 when Mini debuted.
The generation of computers that required Mini and couldn't run the standard
edition is fast becoming extinct.

Are the Trisquel Mini images supposed to be as accessible as the GNOME
images? I tried one and am not sure Orca is even on Mini. If Mini is
not yet accessible, the announcement should read,
All the GNOME images are equally accessible...
