Thanks, all, a
sudo dpkg-reconfigure nautilus
seems to have fixed it. The trouble was only with the current, and
only, user.

Hi,
In an installation of Trisquel 7, I broke the file manager such that,
when I select a folder, either by highlighting its icon, or selecting
it from the 'places' menu, Totem opens, instead of the folder. What's
more, if I use my keyboard shortcut
Then again I'm fairly sure the problem is only with the current user as well
:)
reinstall nautilus or install a different file manager?
Hm...
Perhaps we could try right-clicking on a folder, clicking on Open with
other application..., and then selecting Nautilus?
This will probably just work for the current user.
