hmm no... i know of that method, i am looking for a way to lower default
brightness...
Not 100% sure on the mini/lxde but you should be able to edit the
/etc/rc.local and set the brightness this way. For example, "set xbacklight
-set (number you want goes here, no parentheses)". Don't forget to make it
executable.
and as for the ones i have (lxde/mini) I don't know of any way to do it that
way either... but is there one?
for either trisquel mini or lxde?
I know xfce has an option but i do not know of any clean way to install it
from scratch
On my laptop I can just press "Fn" + "Arrow left" or "Arrow right" in order
to decrease / increase the brightness. I admit, that wouldn't help with the
default brightness but maybe it can help you.
Does

help?
I haven't figured out how to bind this command to a set of keys, but I
manually change the brightness using this:
echo 100 | sudo tee /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness
Just change the "100" to whatever number you want. Maybe you could set it as
a default by creating a script
thanks but does this work as a default?
