Unfortunately, I didn't get to see any of the talks live because of my job.
Hopefully more of them will be uploaded somewhere than last year's...
I hope somebody recorded the icecat conference made by Ruben.
now i know how to nail someone bragging about their camera
Survey recordings
If you physically attended LibrePlanet 2015, please fill out the feedback
survey so the conference can be made even better next year!

I should note that using that website to convert a video is SaaSS (Service as
a Software Substitute), and should be avoided:

Hi tomlukeywood, the conversion to OGG or WebM is quite easy with ffmpeg or
libav-tools. FFmepg can be found in Trisquel 6 repositories and libav-tools
is available in Trisquel 7 repositories.
So the command lines for installation are :
- for FFmpeg
sudo apt-get install ffmpeg
- for
thanks for the replys i have found transmagedon video transcoder
seems to be working but i am currently on a x60 thinkpad with a 1.66ghz
single core cpu with 2gb of ram
and its doing about 1mb per 2 minits :(
so i will wait until i get back home with my 8 core i7 cpu
and 16gb of ram!
The version of Transmageddon in Trisquel 7 doesn't support VP9 yet.
Additionally, I'd recommend scaling the video down if you recorded it in
1080p. This can be done easily in avconv/ffmpeg (read the manpage.)
LibrePlanet is almost over! Karen's talk upcoming! :D Looking forward to
coming to next year's LibrePlanet.
How was LP guys? I bet everyone's at the party venue drinking and stuff! :D
Pixel count doesn't tells one much about image quality. For video, it's even
less meaningful. Search about “megapixel myth”. Most cameras store video
at 1920×1080 or below (even if the sensor takes more samples) which is ~2.1
millions of pixels.
Bear in mind that pixel count is just the
libreplanet was very good i flashed my x200 (that i got from the fsf store)
with a beaglebone
or someone else showed me how to do it
there were lots of good talks that were recorded and i assume will soon be
uploaded
but i missed the icecat talk as i was flashing libreboot :(
i diddnt go
dose anyone know how to convert mpeg-4 to ogv? i tried the ogg converter
program but i kept crasing and gave this cli error when i tried to convert

Elphel camera is approved by FSF[1] and you can visit their website over

I have dropped a mail to Libby Reinish, Campaigns Manager at FSF, asking
whether FSF can record this years conference for non-recipients.
Actally, last year's Libre Planet conference is available in GNU
MediaGoblin[1]. So possibly they *MIGHT* use the channel for this year as
well.
If I were you, I'd share both the MPEG-4 video, and a WebM (not Ogg Theora)
conversion. VP8 is better than Theora.
VP8 is better than Theora.
why?
also i will share both ogg and mpeg-4 for the unfortunate iexplore.exe/safari
users
i do this on my website with html5 video using this code:
http://pastebin.com/8ATgm7LB
If you plan to record the conference sessions, use a free media format for
that like Ogg(Vorbis/Theora)[2].
my camera is sadly using the mpeg 4 format but i will convert it to ogg/webm
before sharing
There is a company called Elphel that makes cameras that record in the Theora
format, but they are very expensive. As far as I am aware, no major camera
manufacturers make cameras that support that format.
i am going and ill try and record it i have a 12 megapixel camera with about
1 hour and 30 minits of video so as its
too days i could get about 3 hours
Damn it, I have work to do this weekend.
Anyone knows if someone is going to record the conferences and keep them for
the people that cannot go?
I hope they actually record the conference this time, so we have something to
watch besides lousy 10 FPS streamdumps.
