You're mistaking unar (command-line version of The Unarchiver) with unrar. There is no such thing as "unar-free". unar supports all versions of RAR.

Unar is on the Parabola's repos. Of course it should be on Trisquel's too! I use it and it's very useful

I heard unar-free cannot do v3 of RAR files, but unar can. Maybe newer versions of unar-free can now. I just don't use RAR files anymore.
