I use a Thinkpad T400 connected via VGA to a flatscreen TV. It is a cheap
solution (less than 100 EUR) for libre gaming.
A usb gamepad can be used to play Supertux and other games.
Mobile devices using a Texas Instruments processor (such as the Pandora and
Pyra) don't need any blobs to boot,
UPDATE: Problem solved. This is because certain unknown defect of the
keyboard base. I purchased another Helix and successfully installed Trisquel
(Legacy BIOS mode) using the good new keyboard base.

Do you think maybe the kill command is not working are expected?

But then I am able to get **the audio back** ?!!??!
Then I am able to launch the video file but with VLC (as the Totem
application is no more working since a few weeks now).

Your right, I was just more concerned about once im finished - am I gonna
have whats basically a x230 with a stock 13.3" screen, or will I encounter
some problems forever across different distros.
If the upgrade is done, and done properly - will this function like a normal
screen (besides
xfburn or dd are my recommendations.
personally I now use usb flash drives + dd.
Best solution ever... for me anyways.
